Winter Attacking / Finishing Camp

Winter Attacking/Finishing Camp is designed for High School boys and girls. 

Four two-hour sessions provide instruction from University of Nebraska Assistant Soccer coaches Ian Bridge and Marty Everding, volunteer Assistant Coaches and Nebraska Soccer players. The emphasis is on developing skills of attacking play and finishing on goal. Specifically, the following areas with be addressed:

  • Turns
  • Making space
  • 1v1 dribbling
  • Evasive dribbling
  • General ball striking technique
  • Swerved finishes; open foot, near post and far post
  • Driven finishes far and near post
  • Front volleys
  • Side volleys
  • Front and side 1/2 volleys
  • Heading for goal
  • Breakaways

There will not be any goalkeeper specific instruction. 

The camp will involve four instructional sessions on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., all inside the state-of-the-art, climate controlled Hawks Championship Center indoor practice facility on the University of Nebraska’s campus in Lincoln.

Waiver/Medical Forms:
All waiver/medical forms must be received in our office at least one week prior to the start of camp. Forms will not be accepted at Check-in.


Payment:
All registrations must be paid in full at least one week prior to the start of camp. Payment for registrations will not be accepted at Check-In.


What To Bring:
Soccer Ball, Cleats, Shin Guards, Water Bottle.


Parking Passes:
Parking passes can be purchased on-line during registration or are available for purchase at Check-in. The cost is $16 to park in the lot adjacent to Hawks Championship Center for all four sessions.

All University lots require a permit. Big Red Soccer Camp is not responsible for parking tickets. Make checks payable to Big Red Soccer. If you ordered a permit through the registration process, it will be available to pick up at Check-in.


Athletic Trainer:
A trainer will be on site throughout camp. Water and Gatorade will be available each day.


Observing Camp:
Camp activities may only be observed from the 2nd floor balcony of Hawks. Observation will not be allowed on 1st floor.
